TONY’S DI NAPOLI OPENS SECOND RESTAURANT

At the Casablanca Hotel off Times Square

Popular Family Style Southern Italian Restaurant  Moves into Times Square

New York, NY, October 28, 2002 - Tony's Di Napoli, the popular east side family run, family style eatery, has opened a new location at The Casablanca Hotel at 147 West 43rd Street in Times Square.
Like its predecessor, the new Times Square Tony’s Di Napoli will capture the essence of authentic New York Italian dining, filled with the flavors of Little Italy and Arthur Avenue's classic, home-cooked meals.
Tony's will serve Veal Parmigiana, Chicken Cacciatore, Lobster Fra Diavolo and homemade Ravioli - all in platters that comfortably satisfy 2-3 hungry diners.
In keeping with another Old New York tradition, Tony’s provides its generous portions of authentic Southern Italian cuisine at very affordable pricing.
All meats are butchered on premises and a huge lobster tank will ensure the freshness of Tony's one and a half- to four-pound lobsters. Baked clams on the half shell are opened to order.
Tony's Di Napoli has long been a New York tradition for the celebration of birthdays, family outings and the gathering of good friends. A virtual landmark on the upper east side (2nd Avenue and 83rd Street), Tony's regularly hosts public servants like former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, baseball stars like Derek Jeter, David Wells and Al Leiter and entertainers and thousands of kids, grown ups and families who just love Southern Italian cuisine.
Both Tony's Di Napoli are family owned and operated by Herb and Greg Wetson.
The success of the east side Tony's - packed with families, groups and parties—prompted the Wetsons to expand their restaurant to a new location. The introduction into Times Square reflects the continued need for more reasonably priced dining in that area, to accommodate tourists, theater goers and local business people in search of authentic Southern Italian cuisine.
In an area of long lines and tight quarters, Tony's Di Napoli can accommodate lunch and dinner groups up to 100 people in Times Square - and usually on short notice. A well stocked bar and a 16-unit cruvinet for wines by the glass makes it the perfect place to relax after a hard day's work or before a trip to the theater.
Tony's will provide lunch and dinner delivery as well as full catering in homes and offices and room service to the Casablanca Hotel.
